NANA manga creator Ai Yazawa revealed in the May 4 issue of Kobunsha's Josei Jishin magazine that she returned home in early April from the Tokyo hospital where she was being treated for an unspecified serious illlness. She had put her NANA manga last summer due to the sudden illness. However, she said that she has not gripped a pen once since her illness, and revealed that she does not know when or if she will return to working again.

Shueisha announced on Friday that

Ai Yazawa is putting her
Nana series on hold due to a serious illness. As a result of this the August issue of
Cookie magazine will not have the scheduled installmant of
Nana. Since
Ai Yazawa will need several months of treatment and rest,
Nana will not appear in the September issue (which will ship on July 25 or later issues. This is expected to last until further notice is given.

Nana's readers
Cookie can not confirm when
Nana will return but once the editors can confirm
Yazawa's recovery they will notify their readers of the
manga's return through the magazine, the magazine's homepage, and the official
