A group of 14 anime singers have banded together to form the Anison All-Stars, releasing John Lennon's "Imagine" in an effort to fight world hunger. The song, featuring Mami Ayukawa, Yoshifumi Ushima, Minami Kuribayashi, Hiromi Satou, the supergroup JAM Project (Hironobu Kageyama, Masaaki Endou, Hiroshi Kitadani, Masami Okui, Yoshiki Fukuyama), Hiroki Takahashi, Kaori Hikita, Faylan, Yumi Matsuzawa, and Shunji Inoue, was posted on Japanese music download services on Friday, to mark World Food Day.

Each download of the song will donate 100 yen to the World Food Programme (WFP), the United Nations organisation which fights world hunger and poverty. With an estimated 1.02 billion people in the world who are undernourished, and 350 million of them children, 100 yen would pay for 3 meals in the WFP's school meals programme.

The song is currently only available for download by Japanese residents.
