At Anime Expo VIZ representatives confirmed that the Nartuo series would not be aired on TV due to the Cartoon Network's shift away from licensing content. The Cartoon Network has moved to developing new programing internally and are shifting viewership to online portals.

In related news, Viz also confirmed the forthcoming release of the first Naruto Shippuden feature film in November with no additional details available at this time.

It should also be noted that Viz has solicited the first volumes of the forthcoming Naruto Shippuden DVD release.

The first volume will contain episodes 1-4 with uncut footage and dual-language audio and is slated for release on September 29th for an MSRP $24.99. The second volume will be available on October 27th with episodes 5-8 for the aforementioned MSRP. There are currently no plans for multi-disc collections in the vein of the previous Naruto series box sets.
