Fairy Tail a
manga by
Hiro Mashima has been given the green light to be produced into an
anime for this fall. The 31st issue of
Kodansha's weekly Shonen Magazine will announce the
anime adaptation next Wednesday. The
anime will be produced by A-1 Pictures and Satelight.
The
manga follows the story of a teenager girl named Lucy Heartfillia who wants to join the world's most notorious mage guild,
Fairy Tail. It's during a daring rescue that she meets her, soon to be, friend Natsu "Salamander" Dragneel. Natsu is a quirky member of
Fairy Tail and a teenaged practitioner of the ancient Dragon Slayer magic. After being accepted into
Fairy Tail Lucy and Natsu (and other members) go on various quests.
The seventh volume of
Fairy Tail will be published by
Del Rey in North America next month.
Mashima, the creater of this series, also created the Monster Hunter Orage
manga and Rave
manga. The Rave
manga was published by Tokyopop in North America under the name Rave Master.
