Anime Expo has announced that it will host Tokyo expatriate blogger and Mirai Fusion founder Danny Choo at the July 1-4 convention in Los Angeles.
Choo is best known for cosplaying in Tokyo as an Imperial Stormtrooper from the Star Wars films. In March, Choo revealed that he had set up the anime production studio Mirai Fusion. Later that month, Choo revealed the title of the anime that Mirai Fusion has been planning: Chinka (鎮火 or literally, "put out a fire"). The anime takes place in a mountain town plagued by the legendary arsonist Akaneko. A girl named Chinka with the superhuman ability to smell out fires appears and assists the local fire brigade to find the true identity of Akaneko.

What does it mean to be a god? That’s the question Kannagi seems to be posing over the course of its thirteen episode run. Must a god be an all-knowing, all-powerful being; conscious of their role in the world and the nature of their involvement in human affairs? Must a god, in short, be Godly? Or can they be as flawed and as ignorant as the rest of us?

Kannagi may be on haitus for a year after mangaka Takenashi Eri's severe illness. Eri has been very ill for some time now and while she has been drawing it is no where near the state her normal work is and so in a blog she has written that she plans to take a year off.
★08.07★
Long time no see everyone,
Thank you to all the people that were concerned for me. I’ve pretty much recovered to the point where I can live normally now. Though I still have rely on my family for food or when going out. Once in a while I can manage to stay up for the entire day. I can even go out with my friends now.
I am definitely recovering!
But I think I’ll stop drawing for a year at the very least
I’m doing simple jobs right now (such as checking)
Please wait a little longer before I can make a return
With any luck she'll be back before the year is up, but if not, wish her well!
