Yen Press will launch a graphic novel adaptation of the vampiric, Romeo and Juliet rip off, complete literary abomination: Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. The novel adaptation will comprise two volumes, illustrated by manhwa artist Young Kim and will feature black and white illustrations with colour insert pages. Scheduled for release on March 16, the first volume will have an initial printing of 350, 000 copies.

This Friday's issue of the magazine will contain a ten-page excerpt from the graphic novel and an interview with Stephenie Meyer.

In November, Evangelion character designer/manga creator Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, Metal Gear game franchise creator Hideo Kojima, and Sasameke manga creator Ryuji Gotsubo judged a Twilight art contest in Japan. Gotsubo illustrated the Japanese edition of the Twilight novels, and according to the contest's sponsor pixiv, the judges are "huge fans" of the Twilight series.
