Ninomiya Tomoko is about to finish her manga series Nodame Cantabile, in the 20th 2009 issue of Kiss, a manga magazine, which is about to hit the bookshelves on October, 10. Nodame Cantabile, a story about two music majors and their relationship with each other, is one of the most successful Josei manga ever. The 22 volumes sold over 30 million times and there have also been numerous live action and anime movies. Source: Anime News Network

The first film is set to open in December (December 19, 2009) and the second at the end of the manga and anime next spring.

The original manga, the live-action version, and a separate anime version all center around two music students (Hiroshi Tamaki, Juri Ueno) who find themselves on parallel paths in Japan and later Europe. ~Anime News Network The webiste also announced in July that orchestra concerts will be held on October 31st and November 1st at the Tokyo International Forum to commemorate the opening of the first film.
