Another year, another slew of animation being loaded into panty shaped bullets and fired into our collective G-spots. Before this season kicked off I was slightly underwhelmed when I looked at the lineup. I sighed and figured at least something might have some panties in it, but no amazing shows. I was SO wrong (but yes, there are panties).

Last time I didn't even mention ALL the shows I was watching. I aim to rectify that by listing every show I bothered watching this time around--so naturally that one about card battling isn't included. That said, there is a lot of material so I'll list items in a vague order of importance and try to keep things short (UNLIKE MY PE-*gets whacked by responsible younger sister*).

MUST WATCH

Mitsudomoe and Kimi ni Todoke second seasons

I shouldn't even have to mention these, they're like a given.

Fractale

If there were just ONE show I wanted you to leave here knowing about, it would be Fractale. Directed by that dude who does stuff on Haruhi and Lucky Star, this show will blow your mind with its production values (lol, I know I know....I promise its NOTHING like the other shows I mentioned). I kept checking the total play time on my video player to make sure this wasn't a movie length animation, because the art style, animation, and backdrops were EYE DESTROYINGLY amazing. I thought I may be watching a Studio Ghibli film. ENOUGH SAID.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica (RaShayRitto's pick)

Like most of this season's lineup, I was expecting poor things from this show. Damn am I ever so happy to be so wrong. Madoka distills and evolves the magic girl genre down to an art form. The music, animation, and unique approach to certain artistic elements really make this show an absolute treat. To be perfectly honest this show is now on the top of my personal "cant wait to see more" list. (yes, even more than Kimitodo season 2). The first time you see Mami transform you will understand the greatness Madoka is bringing to the tired magic girl formula. Mami's fight scene in episode 2 is BADASS.

Mazinkaiser

I'm not much of a mecha guy, so forgive me for not knowing the pedigree backing this show til after I saw it. Mazinkaiser is what happens when 80's heavy metal culture collides with old school anime--PURE AWESOME. Ridiculous character designs, bizarre hair, and everything else that made old school anime what is was is present in Mazinkaiser. The mechanical designs and copious ammounts of boobage are straight out of the heavy metal album covers of yesterday. This show is so overflowing with LEGITIMATE testosterone (oh, put your dragon balls away, angry fanboys!) that I found myself flexing and grunting all throughout the episode. I wanted to burst through a brick wall of an orphanage swinging a battle axe while roaring to the norse gods. There is literally a castle full of babes in togas. Its so amazing I could cry....but I don't have tear glands BECAUSE I WATCH MAZINKAISER!

OTHER NIFTY GEMS

Infinite Stratos

Cork sniffers will HATE this show right away, but Im totally enjoying it! Its got mecha, babes, panties, and uh....well thats like all it ha-OH WAIT its also a harem setup. The main chick is a tsundere which is ALWAYS a plus with me. I love me some Tsunderes.

Beelzebub
I found this pretty hilarious because the baby stands around showing off his genitalia like all the time. The demon chick is pretty hot too.

Dragon Crisis
This show mostly stood out to me for the soundtrack. Whether its awesome or sucks is up to you, but it was certainly a refreshing deviation from the norm. The action was pretty intensely presented too.

Kore wa Zombie Desu ka
This is probably going to be the funniest show of the season. It reminds me quite a bit of MM! from last season, which is an AMAZING omen from my perspective.

Yumekui Merry
The first episode seemed a little clumsy to me, but ep2 improved on that greatly. Despite the total lack of (serious) fanservice content, I think this show has the cutest female characters of the season--they impressed me WITHOUT panties or jiggle physics, so thats seriously saying something about how cute they are. The story is really interesting too.

Houro Musuko
The watercolor style art brings a really unique look to this show that compliments the slice of life story very well. From what I can tell so far its a childhood love story about kids who crossdress. Its blissfully uneventful and fairly cute.

MEH, YOU MIGHT LIKE THESE

Rio: Rainbow Gate
Its a show about a japanese slot machine character...I think. She's pretty hot and the show has some moments (MAID OUTFIT IN EP 1). Its really pretty forgettable though. I'm thinking it will get better if more is revealed about the character's backstory and motives. She's pretty hot so thats why I'm watching.

Level E
Shaping up to be the spiritual successor to Occult Academy. Waiting for more

Oniichan no Koto Nanka Zenzen Suki Janain Dakara ne
From the stupid length of the name, to what the name and show are about, I can't help but feel this is trying to ride on the success of Ore Imouto. It just completely lacks any attractive characters so who knows how far your mileage will be with this one.

Freezing
Hilariously similar to Infinite Stratos but with more "extreme content" both in fanservice and violence. The combination is kind of weird. Its like a futuristic Queen's Blade but with a guy so there's a harem setup. In fact....thats like 100% accurate. Ladies Versus Butlers but with killing would also be completely accurate. Draw your own conclusions.

Gosick
Very similar to shows like Umineko no Naku Koro ni. I had to watch the first episode twice because the chain of events was a bit clumsy, leaving me wondering what was going on at the beginning of episode 2. Its all clear now...kind of. Looks like a possible harem setup, and its got a short tsundere-ish female lead. I'm pretty uninterested in this one

I don't know if its a good or bad thing that so many shows caught my attention, because I kept putting off writing this due to it being so long (JUST LIKE MY- *gets whacked by dissappointed mom*)
