Detroit Metal City manga creator Kiminori Wakasugi and Namakemono ga Miteta manga creator Takashi Murakami will be the next guests at the live drawing event hosted by Kaasan - Mom's Life creator Rieko Saibara on Sunday. The next "Saibara Rieko no Jinsei Garyoku Taiketsu" ("Rieko Saibara's Drawing Showdown") will be streamed live on Ustream and on Nico Nico Douga at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday Japan Time (5:30 a.m. Sunday EDT).
The event takes place at Tokyo's Shinjuku Loft/Plus One hall, but tickets have already sold out. Previous guests have included Nobuyuki Fukumoto (Kaiji), Hisashi Eguchi (Stop! Hibari-kun), Tetsuya Chiba (Ashita no Joe), and Fujiko Fujio A (Doraemon).
Viz Media is releasing the Detroit Metal City manga in North America. Crunchyroll began streaming the Mainichi Kaasan anime worldwide last year.
Akemi Takada held a live, video-streamed drawing session to mark the opening of a temporary shop for Magical Angel Creamy Mami anime goods last Sunday. Earlier this month, Masayuki Ishikawa, the manga creator of Moyashimon and Junketsu no Maria - Sorcière de gré, pucelle de force, began streaming his manga drawing sessions live.
