OneChanbara: Killing Zombies & Running at the Same Time!
Posted by Kishiro in Video Games March 31, 2009 at 01:59:51 PM

Here's an underrated game that anyone 17+ will be able to pick up.

Did you like Streets of Rage?
How about Resident Evil?
Ok, and how about Ninja Gaiden?

So you like swords, zombies... and beating through hordes of enemies.

If you own a Wii or an XB360, you should pick up OneChanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad. It is hours and hours of mindless beat-em-up. You get to slice through zombies as two sisters with some special blood in their veins, and they are later joined by a third gun toting blonde cop in what appears to be a standard issue skin tight vinyl biker patrol uniform. You know, the kind that they wear in the real world when riding motorcycles, the short kind.

It's got sex appeal, I'm not going to lie. You can tell the game was made in Japan. There are cut scenes, many of which play on the appeal and design of the two older characters in the game. The cop and the older sister who wheres the bikini whilst dual wielding katanas.

If you haven't stopped reading this to go buy this game yet, I'll go ahead and tell you that there is indeed a Co-Op mode, but only locally. No XBL play. However, it does appear downloadable content is going to be available.

There are some costumes to unlock, and a dress-up mode which I'm not going to bother to touch. I just want to kill more zombies in hack-n-slash manner. It's a lot of fun. And the music reminds me so much of Street of Rage, only not midi composed. It's like crazy wailing guitar riffs on every level. EXTREME.

I'll post the covers so you know what you're looking for.

Ha ha, they're a bit more covered up in the Wii version, but both are rated M.

Go kill some more zombies!
